Heather Doran is a Project Officer in Public Engagement with Research at the University of Aberdeen. Her role is to help embed public engagement across the university and develop opportunities for engagement. Heather is also the Aberdeen co-ordinator for the EU NUCLEUS project focusing on the integration of Responsible Research and Innovation.
She is the Chair of the British Science Association Branch in Aberdeen and in 2015 she was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Travel Fellowship to travel to the USA, Canada, China and Japan to explore how social media can be used as a tool for public engagement with science.
Before moving to Public Engagement with Research she was a PhD student in molecular pharmacology and co-founded and was editor for Au Science Magazine.
